A number of unsuccessful robbers broke into the Bettembourg amusement park at some point during the night between Saturday and Sunday, but only ended up damaging an ATM before making off empty-handed.
The robbers gained access to the property after they cut holes into the fence surrounding the popular amusement park.
They then proceeded to try to break open an ATM in the park's entrance area, but only managed to badly damage the machine. To avoid identification, they spray painted the ATM's CCTV camera, as well as a surveillance camera on the outside of the building.
The criminals also tried to break open the cash machine's door, but this also failed. The police have started an investigation into the matter.
