One area of one of Luxembourg City's most popular playgrounds will be closed for maintenance and repairs for the next few weeks.

The water playground with the pirate ship feature is situated in the city park between Avenue Monterey and Avenue Emile Reuter. Part of the playground is now closed until 7 June.

The City of Luxembourg has explained that the partial closure will affect the tower with the large slide located next to the pirate ship. After about the first 10 days of work, the city will close the second tower nearby in order to allow for repair works lasting until 7 June. The rest of the play area, including the pirate ship itself, will remain accessible to the public throughout the works.

In order to inform parents about Luxembourg's playgrounds, the City of Luxembourg has released a new leaflet, detailing all playgrounds in the area:

The city has also put information about its playgrounds  online. See the Spillplazen link in the links box.

You might also try the newly-released "Spillplaz.lu" app that uses geolocation to help parents find the kind of playgrounds they need for their kids. See our earlier story in the links box.
