Khadija al-Salami is an award winning Yemeni filmmaker and the first Yemeni female film producer and director.

Her film, “Yemen: kids and the war,” shines a light on the unfortunate, ongoing conflict in Yemen and shows the reality of war through the eyes of courageous children.

The film was recently screened in Luxembourg for the 63rd congress of the UIA, the International Association of Lawyers, which brings together about 1,000 lawyers from across the globe to discuss and address worldwide legal issues.

The sobering, moving images of Al-Salami’s film send a powerful message, calling on those involved in fueling the war by suspending their arms exports to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, while also lending a necessary voice to an otherwise forgotten war.
