The temperatures are finally climbing and ahead of a sunny week, here are eight spots in Luxembourg for an outdoor swim while enjoying the sun!

Outdoor pools
1. Remich
In the south-east of the country near the German border, the Mosellan town of Remich is home to one of Luxembourg's outdoor pools. The recently renovated complex will be open every day from 9am until 8pm until 15 September
On site you will find a big pool with a reserved area to do lanes, a kids' pool, a diving board and a water slide. It's surrounded by a large lawn area where you'll find a small shop to buy snacks and beverages.
The pool will however be exceptionally closed from 16-18 June.

You can check ahead on their website. The entrance fee is €6, with a one euro reduction if you're a senior, a child or a student.

Unfortunately the outdoor pool in Vianden is staying closed this year.

Lakes

1.  Upper Sûre Lake "Stauséi"
The lake in Haute-Sûre is a definite hotspot for Luxembourgers during summer months. People of all ages and from all corners of the Grand-Duchy go there to spend a day by the lake swimming, sun bathing and barbecuing of course. In certain villages around the lake, for example in Lultzhausen you can rent canoes and paddle boats amongst many other activities.

2. "Baggerwéier" lakes in Remerschen
Literally translated Baggerwéier means excavator lakes. These water points in Remerschen came to be after the exploitation of the local sand pits stopped and the holes left by the excavators filled with water. Now thousands of Luxembourgers visit it every year during the summer to make a splash. This year it'll be open until 15 September from 10am until 6pm.

A day ticket costs €5 but children under 10 get free entry. You can also rent paddle and rowing boats to use on the water. Find more information here.

3. Echternach lake

The artifical lake in Echternach, now also allows for people to swim in it as well. The lake is surrounded by hiking path and beautiful nature. With a permit you can also go fishing there.
The lake in Echternach is about 30 hectares and is surrounded by hiking paths.

On site you'll also find the Roman Villa with its free educational museum, a bike park, trampolines and barbecue areas.
