I'm increasingly amazed by the abundance of family-friendly offerings in and around Luxembourg. I'm certain you'll share my excitement when you learn about the latest developments and the wonderful opportunities that await you in the upcoming sunny days. Additionally, there's the chance to rediscover some of the already known delights.
1. KOMINI indoor playground in Messancy
After their success in Waterloo, near Brussels, Komini opened a new playroom in Messancy right across the Belgian boarder. You'll enter through the same doors as Kojump inside the Cora Messancy Shopping Center. It is intended for children from ages 2 to 10. It's a great place to organise birthday parties and it'll be open on Ascension day.
It's located on Route d'Arlon 220 B-6780 Messancy.
2. Gromscheed playground in Senningerberg
A new playground in Sennigerberg is opening on 22 May 2023. The exact location can be found here.

3. Renovated playground in Steinfort
The playground in Steinfort next to the primary school has been renovated and now includes more features!
They've now added a pirate boat, a trampoline and much more! This revamped playground promises to provide hours of joy and entertainment for your children. An additional advantage is the ample parking spots available in close proximity to the playground.
It's located at 16-18 Rue de Kleinbettingen, L-8436 Steinfort, and you find more information on the Facebook page of the commune.

4. New playground in Helmsange, Walferdange
Another great playground will be inaugurated on 20 May at 2pm, in Helmsange. The Facebook event can be found here with all the details. On the inauguration day, the commune will be giving out free ice cream and popcorn!
5. BillyBird Park Drakenrijk in Netherlands
The construction of the largest play castle in Europe located in Reuver, the Netherlands, has been successfully completed. Children will be thrilled to explore this magnificent castle, with the dragon being a particular highlight they are sure to love.

6. Dance of the Gods Festival
On 10 June, a captivating one-day festival inspired by ancient mythologies will unfold at the Amphitheater "Breechkaul" near Echternach.
Visitors will be able to dive deep into the rich heritage of Greek, Nordic, Egyptian, and Hindu mythology.
According to the organisers, visitors can expect epic games for children, great musical performances from all over the world, theatrical improvisation, a divine electronic set and awe-inspiring surprises that will leave you breathless.

7. Nuit des Merveilles Luxembourg
Every year, this event promises to attract big crowds. This year it'll take place on 7 and 8 July 2023 with the full programme announced on 1 June. Ticket sale will start on 12 June and you can find more details on their website.
8. New Playground in Riegelsberg Germany
Located approximately an hour away from Luxembourg, this recently constructed playground offers a delightful addition—an outdoor swimming pool. The town of Riegelsberg is conveniently situated near the World Heritage Site of "Volklinger Hutte," making it possible to combine both destinations for a memorable day trip.
9. L’Odyssee de Lumiere Bouillon Belgium
This is an amazing light and sound show that takes place at the Castle of Bouillon, in Belgium. It's back this year and I highly recommend you visit this beautiful town and its castle.

12. Echternach lake to open for swimming
Exciting news for families! This year, a new bathing location will be added to the charming Echternach lake, which is already a beloved spot for many.
If you haven't already heard about it, I recommend checking out the RTL Today article for more information and details about this wonderful addition.
13. Ville d’Esch: The biggest boulder hall to open in October
While our anticipation may extend until October, the wait will certainly be worthwhile as we prepare to experience the grandeur of the largest boulder hall in the greater region. Complete with impressive climbing walls, engaging games for children, and a range of other activities, this establishment is bound to become a favored destination for those seeking an active lifestyle.

14. New Playground in Remich
The new playground at Park Brill in Remich is also ready for you to come visit. Check out the photos on the municipality’s website here.
15. Luxembourg Museum Days
The Luxembourg Museum Days are back! You can visit all of the 37 participating museums for free on 20 & 21 May.
It's a great opportunity to to explore museums that you and your children haven't had the chance to visit before.

16. Open Days at Tudor Museum
This great museum dedicated to Henri Tudor and electricity will hold open days on May 27 and 28. From 2 to 6pm all visitors will be able to enter the museum for free, and guided tours will be organised in three languages.

17. Poodle Playground Wormeldange
Another exciting addition to the list of playgrounds awaits children, this time by the Mosel. Interestingly, this particular playground is designed to resemble wine barrels, adding a unique touch to the experience. I'm eagerly looking forward to exploring it with the children, and I'm sure you are too!

18. Labyrinthe de Durbuy
The Labyrinth of Durbuy in Belgium is coming back, this time with a new theme: Dinosaurs! The extension will open on 1 July 2023.
Children will love it and it's a great opportunity to visit the town of Durbuy which also very beautiful and has many fun activities and experiences for families with children!

19. Corn Maze of Luxembourg

20. Park Sennesraich Labyrinth
From 24 July to 17 September another corn maze in Luxembourg will be open. It'll be all the way up north in Wincrange at Park Sennesraich.
In the upcoming months, we'll have plenty of exciting opportunities to explore and try new things. So let's embrace the adventures and embark on our TravelmatKanner journey!
