This week, TravelMatKanner rounds up a selection of events taking place in Luxembourg aimed at children and families.
Schueberfouer 2022 at Glacis
This one needs no introduction! The biggest fair in Luxembourg is back in its original format from 19 August 2022 until 07 September 2022, after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. If you've missed the bright lights, thrilling rides and tasty fairground snacks, you won't want to miss this. Perfect for a classic and traditional Luxembourgish afternoon (or indeed, evening) out.
This unique event will run from 24 September 2022 to 25 September 2022 at Fond de Gras, offering visitors a look back in time with its Victorian-style market and steampunk creations. Browse the artisan products on offer, or take in one of the musical and artistic performances.
The International Puppets Festival at Lasauvage will take place from 16 to 18 September 2022. This is a great opportunity to show children the art of puppet theatre where international puppet artists will perform enchanting tales in different languages.
For more steam machines, head to Fond-de-Gras on 3 and 4 September 2022 for their steam fest. With models, a mini steam train for kids, all the way to the steam locomotives on the railways, the festival will celebrate all things steam. Perfect for train-loving children, who will have the chance to get up close and personal with the engines in different workshops, as well as behind-the-scenes tours.
Visit Wiltz on 15, 16 and 17 September 2022 for an enchanting light show! This popular event always attracts plenty of visitors, so spaces are limited to reduce over-crowding. Best to book as soon as possible!
Code Club Luxembourg and Digital Learning Hub Luxembourg are collaborating to offer a free programming workshop for kids aged 8 to 14 years old, on 1 September. The free class, which lasts all day and includes lunch and snacks, seeks to inspire kids to have a go at coding, encouraging creativity and the creation of art. Available in English, German, Luxembourgish and French. Pre-registration is required, and participants can be accompanied by an adult.
This eco-friendly festival takes place in Steinfort from 20-22 August 2022 and offers an alternative to the usual festival scene in the Grand Duchy, encouraging visitors to contemplate environmental issues, as well as tolerance, respect, collaboration and fun!
