1. Watch local stars at Luxembourg Song Contest

What: Road to Malmö
Where: Show takes place at Rockhal, streaming on RTL Today

Who will represent Luxembourg in Malmö in May? After the eight finalists were revealed earlier this month, they now go head-to-head in the national final at Rockhal this Saturday. Tickets for the show are sold out, but we'll be streaming it here on RTL Today with English commentary and live ticker. The contest promises a vibrant mix of musical styles and songs in French and English, and some prominent guest artists are expected too. Get ready for a historical night - especially for the winner!


2. Go DIY at Expo Creativ

What: Hands itchy to get started?

It's the 10th anniversary of Expo Creativ Luxembourg already! At this annual creative fair, visitors will find everything to do with handicrafts, DIY and creative hobbies. Whether you're a committed do-it-yourselfer or an ambitious hobby artist, all kinds of products and ideas can be found here, and you can speak to stall owners about their own work and ideas. There's also an interesting programme of workshops on offer.

PS: There's two more events at LuxExpo too this weekend: An Antiques & Art Fair, as well as a Wine Fair!


3. Win tickets to A Cape'lla show on Friday

What: Powerful vocal chords and harmonies

Since 2016, Ettelbruck's CAPE has been organising Luxembourg's only a cappella festival dedicated solely to human singing. While the fifth edition is sold out, the venue has generously offered RTL Today readers a pair of tickets to Friday's concert! The programme includes the French group River', Just Vox from Belgium and German group Quintense.

4. Cheer on European swimmers qualifying for the Olympics

What: Who is going to Paris in 2024?

635 swimmers from 25 countries will compete in this weekend's Euro Meet at the Coque pool. European medalists and Olympic swimmers are participating in this qualifying event for the Paris Olympic Games 2024, and you can cheer them on from the sidelines all weekend (there are two sessions per day, morning and afternoon). 5. Watch The Dark Night Rises

What: Batman coerced out of exile

We're on a real Christopher Nolan roll right now! Our friends over at Cinémathèque are screening the final film in the trilogy. Bane, an imposing terrorist, attacks Gotham City and disrupts its eight-year-long period of peace. This forces Bruce Wayne to come out of hiding and don the cape and cowl of Batman again...

6. See Tarzan musical

What: Kids musical in German

You Tarzan, me Jane! The German production company Theater Liberi is back with this classic jungle adventure, bringing a colourful podium decor, extravagant musical arrangements and strong, interactive cast to Luxembourg's stage. For those who want to be reminded by the story: Tarzan, an orphan raised by mountain gorillas, rescues a woman explorer, Jane. After realising that he's a human, Tarzan must choose between civilisation and the jungle life...

7. Celebrate Chinese New Year parade

What: 新年快乐!
Where: Grand-Rue, Luxembourg City - In front of Galeries Lafayette
When: Saturday, 27 January between 1.30-5.30pm - FREE - more info here

Ringing in the Year of the Dragon, the Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg is organising, in collaboration with the Union Commerciale de la Ville de Luxembourg (UCVL) and the Galeries Lafayette Luxembourg, a Chinese New Year extravaganza in the heart of the City on Saturday. Between 1.30-5.30pm, there will be a series of stands and fun activities, and a spectacular Chinese dragon parade will plod through the city as of 2.30pm.
