The Shakespeare Schools Festival promises two enchanting evenings at Neumunster Abbey.

Put together by the talented team at St George’s International School, the festival promises an evening of classic plays reimagined, brought to life by the creativity of Year 8 students (ages 13 to 14) in a professional setting.

Clare Williams, the festival's mastermind and drama teacher, shares her excitement, saying, "This festival is all about letting our young stars shine. It's not just a stage for performances; it's a melting pot of ideas, collaboration, and a chance for students to cheer on their peers from different schools."

This year's judge is the London-based Northern Irish actor, Cavan Clarke. Mrs. Williams spills the beans, "Cavan's not just here to judge; he'll be getting hands-on, leading warm-up exercises with the students and sharing valuable feedback. It's a real learning experience for everyone."

What started as a hit debut last year has now blossomed into a full-fledged event. Mrs. Williams shares the festival's journey, "After the triumph of our first run, the response was overwhelming. We've expanded to seven shows from five schools over two nights. It's amazing to see such enthusiasm for celebrating Shakespeare."

The Shakespeare Schools Festival guarantees two magical nights at Neumunster Abbey, starting at 6pm. Tickets are up for grabs on St George’s website.
