TEDxLuxembourgCity will be holding an event on 10 May 2023 centred around the theme of Empowering through Education.

The event, the third TEDxEducation edition in the Grand Duchy, will be held at Forum Geesseknäppchen in the capital, with up to 250 people in attendance.

The seven speakers will include three young winners of the national Idea Competition organised by the Ministry of Education, as well as two business leaders based in Luxembourg and two performers.

Speakers

Chanukya Patnaik is the Founder and CEO of AI Planet, a Luxembourgish startup helping to inform schools, parents and teachers about the potential of AI in education.

Tahereh Pazouki is the Founder of Letzmath and the creator of Magrid, an online programme designed to help young disadvantaged children with maths.

Johannes Heuschkel is a renowned beatboxer who co-founded non-profit GoldenMe, an organisation seeking to help older adults to connect through digital education.

Alex McKell is a mural painter who has worked with refugee camps and the Institut Saint Josef.

Caecilia Riedl is a twelve-year-old Judo athlete with a visual impairment and currently a student at the International School of Luxembourg. She was awarded the Ministry of Education’s national Young Talent award and hopes to compete in the Paralympics in Los Angeles in 2028.

Lara Pedrosa Martins is a sixteen-year-old at the Lycée Aline Mayrisch, who will speak about the power of song in overcoming fears and insecurities.

Sam Elsey is a seventeen-year-old student at the Lycée Aline Mayrisch. He is vice-president of the European Youth Parliament and will discuss the importance of learning to take on constructive criticism.
