Welcome to the weekend! Get ready for British comedy, book reading for kids, 80s synths at Kulturfabrik, a wedding fair or impressive ballet performance.
1. Hear Them Lights at Kulturfabrik
Them Lights makes dark pop, R'n'B and modern electronica. It is the project of Luxembourg-based Sascha Hanlet, who is a producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. This performance is part of this three-year residency at the venue, which will combine groove, 80s synths and exciting arpeggios.
2. Read kids books in Differdange
The Bib fir Kids (Library for Kids) takes place ever first Saturday of the month. A real storyteller comes along to the Differdange library to read a story and then organise a crafting activity after. Registration is free (only 15 spots!) and the sessions lasts around an hour (in Luxembourgish).
3. Find services or be inspired at Wedding Fair
Weddings are part of a large industry, but there's nothing wrong with that. Lots of people offer their services wanting to make it one of the most special days in your life. Whether you need a photographer, hairdresser, rent equipment, wedding clothing, catering, honeymoon destinations or locations...this is the place to find those contacts.
4. Watch The Workers Cup
A film crew managed to gain access to the controversial housing conditions of millions of immigrant workers in Qatar, who over many years have prepared the country to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It is one of the biggest scandals in recent sporting history, where big money reigns. See this film and hear an introduction by Sébastien Louis, a specialist in sports and history.
5. Take English guided tour of the Philharmonie
The Philharmonie invites you to guided tours that lead beyond the areas usually accessible to the public. Learn about the building's architecture, see the different concert rooms, sneak backstage and, if you're lucky, catch a glimpse of a rehearsal. This tour is in English!
6. See The Nutcracker ballet
The Russian Classical Ballet Theatre is coming to Echternach this weekend for a performance of The Nutcracker. Full of fantasy and romance, it is also a breathtaking performance of some of the world's best ballet dancers.
7. Feel funny at British Comedy Night
Four hilarious British comedians are coming to Differdange this weekend! Hosted by Stuart Laws with Harriet Kemsley, Lou Sanders and Phil Wang, you are bound to get some British humour and lots of weird questions about Luxembourg. And...you can win tickets!
