In a message posted on Monarchie.lu , Grand Duchess Maria Teresa thanks the medical staff for their exceptional efforts and states that today is a day of thought for those battling the COVID-19 crisis.

"On this day, I just want to tell you that my heart is not at the party. My heart is with you, with all those who are fighting this disease right now, those who are afraid, who are alone, who are vulnerable. I also think of those who are living their last moments alone, those who would have wanted to accompany a loved one for a final goodbye.

With the Grand Duke, our thoughts and immense gratitude are with the medical staff, paramedic teams and all the volunteers who give themselves without hesitation.

You're a gift to all of us. Thank you!"
