Grand Duchess Maria Teresa was invited to a partner foundation of her Stand Speak Rise Up! association on Thursday.
The Grand Duchess was invited to the ENGIE foundation, the former GDF Suez, for its official annual lunch.
The official statement by ENGIE says the Grand Duchess was surrounded by numerous individuals active in the social, ecological and cultural sector, such as Jacues Attali, General Jean-Louis Georgelin, Jean-Louis Boorlo and Sophie Cluzel.
The Grand Duchess seized the opportunity for a speech addressing the unifying role of the association and its goal of denouncing sexual violence around the globe. She also spoke of the association's most recent projects, such as putting in place an institution for orphans born as a consequence of rape, including psychological and social support.
She also acknowledged the essential nature of Luxembourgish companies that contributed to establishing the Stand Speak Rise Up! forum in March 2019, and thanked ENGIE for supporting the forum and their continued support for its projects.
The ENGIE foundation has supported non-government organisations and associations lead by or supporting women for a number of years.
