General Sir Mark Alexander Popham Carleton-Smith, Chief of the General Staff, on the Grand Duke's relationship to the Irish Guards.

He notes that Grand Duke Jean was "an exceptional man," and that "he was the first serving monarch to serve as the Royal Colonel of the Irish Guards."

In a second short clip, he notes the significance of the Irish Guard performing as part of the funeral ceremony on 4 May.
