On May 4, 2019, the British Ladies Club of Luxembourg celebrates its 50th anniversary at the Alvisse Park Hotel in Dommeldange.

The event is being planned to the very fine details by a special events team and it’s a “golden” opportunity to pay tribute to the founding members and to celebrate today’s vision of the club.

It also presents an opportunity to celebrate together the amazing diversity in the BLC, for which we take enormous pride.

The 50th Anniversary Golden Gala will bring together excellencies, members and partners, guests and friends of the club.

The evening will start at 6pm with a cocktail hour, during which Luxembourgish Saxophonist Fernand Neumann and Pianist Nathan Lagesse will play. A scrapbook with various moments from 50 years of the BLC, as well as its contributions to the larger community, will be available for the attendees to peruse.

The guests will be led to their tables by bagpiper Zack Houston, and between 7pm and 8pm a program will take place which includes remarks from the guests of honor as well as music orchestrated by the talented Lagesse, with songs from famous British singers, following a traditional Welsh poem and Irish dance, there will be the 50th anniversary cake cutting ceremony.

Dinner will be served at 8pm before the dancing starts at 9.30pm to 1.00 am.

The classic Minis will be in display as part of a photo corner where attendees will be able to have their photograph taken by a professional photographer in an unusual setting.

The evening will feature a tombola, where the BLC will fundraise for ALAN (Association for Rare Diseases in Luxembourg) as well as Helen and Douglas House, which supports terminally ill children in the UK.

The event is open to both members and non-members, but spaces are limited!
