King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima started their tour of Rhineland-Palatinate just across the border in Germany on Wednesday.

The Dutch royal couple seem to like the region in and around Luxembourg. They last visited the Grand Duchy back in May.

On Wednesday morning, they started their tour in Mainz, were they were greeted by state prime minister Malu Dreyer. They continued their journey with a visit to Bernkastel-Kues. During their trip, they learned more about the wine growing along the Moselle river and also talked about climate change and the digital age.

On Thursday, fans of the royal couple might get a chance to meet the king and queen in Trier, where they will visit the Karl Marx museum. The next stops on their tour will be Saarbrücken and Berlin.
