On Thursday evening, the Kusel police department in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, was left stumped by an emergency call alerting officers to two alligators apparently roaming around in a parking lot.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they found two alligators measuring between 40 and 60 centimetres in length. The gators did however not present a danger to the officers - the lifelike reptiles of the type "Caiman Crocodylus" were stuffed specimens.

It is not currently known who left the reptiles in the parking lot, but investi-gators are looking into the matter.
