Note: the above gallery is form 2017 - we're rather luckier with the weather this year!
Éimaischen is a long-standing part of Luxembourg's Easter celebrations, with the first written reference to it dating all the way back to 1827. The market is best known for its Péckvillercher, which are basically little clay birds that emit a whistling sound if you blow into them. If you have particularly deep pockets, you could possibly even get your hands on a Superjhemp one this year!
But there's plenty more to the market than clay birds - you will find lots of handcrafted products (fans of garden decorations may want to take out a second mortgage before heading in), and of course plenty of delicious food.
Given that most shops and supermarkets around the country are closed today, it's pretty much the place to be.
You will find the market in the Luxembourg City's old town around Place du Marché-aux-Poissons and thereabouts. There's also one in Nospelt. It's open from 8am to 6pm.
