The anticipation is building as the Francofolies festival in Esch-sur-Alzette reveals its initial lineup for the 2024 edition.
From June 6 to June 9, the Parc du Gaalgebierg and the halls of Esch-sur-Alzette are set to come alive with an eclectic mix of musical performances for 2024's Francofolies Festival.
Kicking off the event on Friday, 7 June, is the renowned French rap artist Ninho, who will be performing for music enthusiasts in and around Luxembourg. Joining him on stage that day are Tiakola, Luidji, J9ueve, and Baby Volcano, promising a dynamic start to the festivities.
Saturday, 8 June, promises a more rocking experience with the farewell tour of French band Shaka Ponk, ensuring a spectacular concert. The day's lineup includes other notable acts such as Lost Frequencies, Meute, Zahode Sagazan, Ascendant Vierge, Apashe, Ko Ko Mo, Bagarre, and Black Lilys. Meanwhile, at the Kulturfabrik, Tiken Jah Fakoly, a major figure on the African continent and in reggae, adds his presence to the festival affectionately dubbed "les Francos."
David Guetta on Sunday
The grand finale on Sunday, 9 June, sees the return of global megastar David Guetta to the region, gracing the Parc du Gaalgebierg six years after his last appearance in Luxembourg. Joining him on this closing day are L'Impératrice, Olivia Ruiz, Mentissa, Santa, and Julien Granel.
The lineup is expected to evolve in the coming weeks, with new additions and hidden gems yet to be revealed.
Tickets went on sale at 10am on Thursday, 16 November 2023, offering early-bird discounts for eager festival-goers. Day tickets and 3-day passes are also available for purchase.
The Francofolies festival also provides a platform for emerging artists from Luxembourg. Aspiring musicians can apply on the event's website for a chance to be part of the programme, receiving support and intensive training before showcasing their talents on stage.
