Yes, summer may be over, but it’s never too late to (re)listen to a catchy soul-infused pop tune.

Josh Island released a new music clip to Love Don’t Come Easy on 18 November. Directed by filmmaker Ted Kayumba-Kasongo, the story depicts different forms of love through polaroid pictures, snapped by Josh on a summer tour through Luxembourg City - all taken with an original Polaroid camera from the 70s. It takes some imagination to put together the story, but ultimately all pictures make up the tape to the funky, ear-worm song.

The clip accompanies the Luxembourg-based singer-songwriter’s second eponymous EP, released in May, and received major airplay on German radio stations (SWR1, Bremen Eins, Deutschlandfunk) and in the Benelux.

The video also debuts Josh as an actor in a video, a fun experience that the songwriter says he is looking forward to exploring more: “Experiencing one’s own song through video as an ‘actor’ is a whole different experience than as a songwriter. We had great fun shooting this video”, says Josh. Production company Crossfire had already produced Josh’s first single ‘Fire in You’.

The EP was recorded in Portugal with renowned producer Nelson Canoa (Carminho, Sara Tavares) in the summer of 2020, and released on 7 May.

Josh Island is on tour throughout western Europe in 2022, with his next Luxembourg show on 9 February at Kinneksbond, Mamer.
