The British and Irish Film Festival Luxembourg is hosting a special Spring Festival this year - and it all gets started this Sunday.
The British and Irish Film Festival Luxembourg (BIFFL) is an annual event that showcases the best of British and Irish cinema in the heart of Europe. Established in 2010, the festival has become a popular cultural event that attracts filmmakers, actors, and film enthusiasts from across the continent.
For the first time, the BIFFL is hosting a Spring Festival this year, with an Autumn Festival taking place as usual in September. The new edition will run from Sunday 19 March to Friday 24 March, with ten films being screened at Ciné Utopia in Luxembourg City.
Among the selection this year is The Quiet Girl, which was nominated for Best International Feature Film at the Oscars.
The festival provides a platform for up-and-coming filmmakers to showcase their work to a wider audience, and many of the films screened at the festival have gone on to receive critical acclaim and commercial success. It is a celebration of the rich cinematic traditions of the UK and Ireland, and a testament to the power of film to connect people across borders and cultures.
