New films were presented at Locarno's 74th international film festival on Saturday evening.

One of the winners was Hinterland by Stefan Ruzowitzky, co-produced with Amour Fou Luxembourg (Bady Minck and Alexander Dumreicher-Ivanceanu).

The film had its world premiere on the Piazza Grande with 6,000 people in attendance, and was awarded the audience award.

A large part of the movie was shot at the Filmland studios in Kehlen. The Luxembourgish team involved included actor Marc Limpach, Uli Simon as chief costume designer, Gilbert Degrand as gaffer, Alain Goniva as recording engineer, Michel Schillings as sound engineer, Karoline Maes as head of production, André Fetzer as producer and Raoul Nadalet of Espera Productions in post-production.

Music was composed by Luxembourg composer Kyan Bayani.

Hinterland will be screened in Luxembourg's cinemas Kinepolis, Utopia and CDAC in October 2021.
