Her statue to be installed beside that of her husband - former French President, Nicolas Sarkozy.
The singer and former first lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy will inaugurate her wax double at the Musée Grévin in early 2019, the Paris museum told AFP on Thursday.
Bruni-Sarkozy published a photo Wednesday on her Instagram account showing her in a protective gown while two technicians took plaster impressions of her hands. She captioned it, "strange work in progress".
Contacted by the AFP, the Grévin museum confirmed the upcoming addition, indicating that the inauguration of the statue of Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is scheduled for early 2019.
The singer will join her husband, former French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, who made his entrance in the wax museum soon after his election as the President of France. The museum plans to install the couple's statues side by side. The wax double of Nicolas Sarkozy currently stands with other heads of States including Donald Trump.
Carla Bruni was already elected by the Grévin Academy in 2008 as a singer but the entry of her wax counterpart into the museum was finally postponed.
Before Carla Bruni-Sarkozy though, current French President, Emmanuel Macron will make his entry into the wax museum in a few weeks time.
The Musée Grévin was created in 1882 by the sculptor Alfred Grevin and the journalist Arthur Meyer, director of the daily newspaper Le Gaulois.
