More than 20 shellfish lorries stacked up on roads near Number 10 Downing Street on Monday following a series of problems exporting fish to the EU due to Brexit.

One lorry, with the slogan 'Brexit Carnage' on the side, parked metres from Downing Street, where Prime Minister Boris Johnson has his official residence. Police asked the lorry driver for details.

Another lorry carried the slogan 'Incompetent government destroying shellfish industry!'

Many Scottish fisherman have been unable to export their stocks to Europe since the start of January. The introduction of catch certificates, health checks and customs declarations have added lengthy delays to delivery times, prompting European buyers to seek produce elsewhere.

On Sunday, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab told the BBC that delays to fishing exports were just "teething problems", and that ministers were working with the sector to resolve them.

Mark Moore, manager of the Dartmouth Crab Company, told BBC Radio 5 Live that his company was facing delays of up to eight and a half hours for delivering produce into the EU.

Fishermen and seafood exporters have warned that the post-Brexit rules could sink Scotland's fishing industry, given its reliance on the rapid delivery of fresh produce.
