  • [block type="summary"]The latest figures take the total number of cases up by 8 to 3,859. The death toll is now 100, up from 98 yesterday. The total number of tests carried out in Luxembourg now stands at 51,883. In other words, 1,350 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.

    In international news



    • [block type="summary"]Sweden on Thursday reported more than 3,000 coronavirus deaths, after gaining international attention for imposing softer lockdown measures than many of its hard-hit European neighbours. 

      • British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told senior ministers on Thursday the government would adopt "maximum caution" as it moves towards a relaxation of lockdown measures imposed to combat the coronavirus outbreak.

      • France is "ready to massively test" people suspected of having the coronavirus and anyone who has come into contact with them from next week, the country's health minister said Thursday. Olivier Veran said France will be able carry out 700,000 PCR tests a week for the virus from Monday when it begins the fraught process of relaxing its almost eight-week lockdown.
