Eyewitnesses reported hearing one loud explosion, quickly followed by two or three more. The cause of the blasts has not yet been confirmed.
According to initial reports and a CGDIS bulletin, the fire broke out at the road maintenance site, where around five trucks were caught in the flames. A trailer was also completely destroyed. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
Fire brigades from Bertrange, Mamer, Luxembourg City, Kiel and Habscht responded swiftly and were able to bring the blaze under control.
