The next Covid law was unanimously adopted by MPs in the Chamber on Thursday afternoon.
The newest Covid law will last until March 2023 and will see restrictions reduced to a minimum. The isolation period for infected patients will drop from 7 days to 4, in order to lower the risk of issues in the workplace due to absences and sick notes. However, patients who are suffering from illness will be able to request extended sick notes from their GP.
Contact tracing is set to end for good, while the so-called "forced quarantine", which formed part of the original law but was not applied in practice, will also be scrapped.
The government will also officially recognise Long Covid, meaning that treatment for people with persistent long-Covid symptoms will now be included in the nomenclature of medical records and services, and will therefore also be covered by health insurance companies.
The governing council gave the green light for a corresponding Grand-Ducal regulation on Wednesday.
