Later, the motorist tried to attack police officers and hospital workers. He ended up spending the night in a cell.
An accident occurred in Esch-sur-Alzette shortly after 10pm on Tuesday evening. The driver of the car fled the scene of the accident on foot. Shortly afterwards the police managed to locate him. His breathalyser test was positive, and he was taken to the police station. Once he got there, however, he did not exactly behave in an exemplary manner. As he accompanied the officers to his vehicle to retrieve some personal items, he attacked them before being immobilised.
Later, he also attacked the hospital staff examining him. In his condition, he was a danger to himself and others, according to the police. As a result, he was put in a cell for the night. His driving licence was withdrawn, and a complaint was filed.
At around 10pm on Tuesday, another drunk driver was stopped by the police in Differdange. He too had his driving licence withdrawn.
