To date there have been 55 monkeypox infections in Luxembourg, with three people hospitalised for a short period of time.

According to the Ministry of Health, the evolution of the virus in Luxembourg is mirroring that of other European countries.
619 people have been vaccinated so far since mid-August, while 80 people have received a second dose. People belonging to the risk groups for monkeypox can call 4411 3129 to make an appointment for a vaccination.
The virus has emerged in 43 European countries so far, with 23,837 cases recorded according to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). 641 new cases were identified over the past week. Three people in Europe have died as a result of the virus.
