Although 2021 was still largely dominated by the coronavirus pandemic, the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (Luxembourg's main hospital centre) was able to adapt to the demands, according to their latest report.
The hospital group said they had managed to adapt to Covid measures as well as the development of the pandemic.
In July 2021, the CHL opened its Long-Covid consultation clinic, which has treated 772 patients to date. This year, a second consultant was added to the service.
Plans are still ongoing to develop the former maternity unit belonging to the CHL, where the group hopes to open a new hospital building in 2028 at the latest.
Over 174,000 patients were treated by the CHL last year, with almost 40,000 operations. There were also over 575,000 outpatient appointments.
The CHL is one of Luxembourg's largest employers, ranking 11th with some 2,678 employees in 2021.
