There have been 54 monkeypox infections identified in Luxembourg to date, with three people hospitalised.

As of Wednesday, Luxembourg recorded 54 monkeypox cases, with one case identified over the last week.

According to the Ministry of Health, the infected patients have all been male, with an average age of 37. Three people have been hospitalised so far.

527 people have been vaccinated against monkeypox since vaccines were rolled out in mid-August. Five people are still awaiting their second dose.

Across Europe there have been 23,196 cases to date, with an increase of 833 over the past week. The majority of cases are aged between 31 and 40 years old, while 98.6% have been male.
