Violent thunderstorms accompanied by hail and heavy rain hit the communes of Hosingen, Bourscheid, Vichten, Angelsberg, Wahlhausen, and Feulen on Tuesday night.
Photos and videos are circulating on social networks on specialised pages such as "Météo Remich" or "Météo Boulaide".
The storms, which came from the centre of France, did not affect the whole of Luxembourg, but mainly the north.
As of now, the emergency services have not reported any major damage despite the size of the hailstones photographed by Internet users on Tuesday. In its morning bulletin, the 112 did not report any interventions linked to last night's weather disturbances.
Météolux issued a statement shortly before 8 pm confirming the "risk of moderate to strong thunderstorms" with the possibility of hail, heavy rain and wind gusts of up to 90km/h. The alert was valid from 8 pm to 2 am. It has since been lifted.
