Five people died of Covid-19 in the week from 4-10 July, according to the Ministry of Health's latest summary.

5,616 people tested positive for the virus in the same week out of 14,000 tests, a slight drop from the previous week.

28 people were admitted to hospital, compared to just 19 the week before. However, the number of patients in intensive care has dwindled to zero. The average age among patients is 58.

The incidence rate has increased among children aged 0-4 (+25%), as well as among those aged 75-79 (+47%), and 85-89 (+70%). The highest incidence rate was recorded among people aged 45-49  (1,620 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

Some 1,972 vaccine doses were administered over the week, meaning 474,091 people are now fully vaccinated - around 78.8% of the population. The vaccine bus, or "Impfbus", will continue to make the rounds offering jabs without the need to schedule an appointment. More information can be found at  www.impfen.lu.

The Victor Hugo Hall vaccine centre has now reopened, offering vaccinations until 30 July. People aged 70 and over, as well as immunocompromised people, can obtain a fourth jab, or booster, if they so wish.
