At around 1.15am, an accident left four people injured, according to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS).

On Tuesday night, a car crashed into several parked vehicles in Rue de Niederkorn in Sanem. Besides rescue workers from Sanem-Differdange, Käerjeng, Pétange, and Esch-sur-Alzette, two first responders (Samu) were also on site to treat the four people that were injured.

The police specified on Tuesday afternoon that the vehicle in question had already raised suspicion with a police patrol. When officers wanted to pull the car and its four passengers over, the driver accelerated in an attempt to escape. During the car chase, the driver drove around recklessly while continuing to accelerate until finally losing control over the vehicle in a corner. After one of the front tyres burst, the car tore through a hedge onto a public car park, crashing into three other vehicles, overturning, and finally coming to a stop in the front garden of a house.

One person was ejected from the car in the process. After receiving first-aid, all four of them were admitted to hospital. According to the police, they sustained slight to severe injuries.

After the police were able to identify all four individuals, who had given misleading statements in that regard to the police, it turned out that two of them were known to the authorities. In addition, the presumed did not have a driving licence. An investigation was launched.
