Our colleagues from RTL Télé captured some impressive footage of the huge night-time construction site at Findel airport.
Every evening, 250 workers and their 200 machines are hard at work on the runway of the airport, where work has been ongoing for several weeks.
Between 11pm and 5am, lorries, excavators, and other machinery are in action, allowing the airport to operate throughout the day.
The four kilometres of runway, covering an area equivalent to 137 football pitches, will be completely renovated by October. To achieve this, there is no room for downtime: all materials are stored in the vicinity in case of a breakdown or other unforeseen event.
