On Wednesday, the 'Centre LGBTIQ+ Cigale' association was awarded the Anne-Beffort-Prize by the municipal executive of Luxembourg City.
In the presence of Claudie Reyland, the President of the Commission for the Equality between Women and Men, Max Lamesch was presented with the award as a representative for the association campaigning for the LGBTQIA+ community.
On 18 June 2021, Luxembourg City has officially declared itself an 'LGBTQIA+ Freedom Zone' and has put a particular emphasis on strengthening the rights of the community.
The Commission for the Equality between Women and Men and the Municipality of Luxembourg City have awarded the Anne-Beffort-Prize since 2003. The prize is endowed with €3,000.
