At 10.45pm on Sunday, Differdange residents alerted the police to a suspected case of domestic violence.
Shortly after people had informed the police, the man involved in the incident decided to call authorities himself and started making death threats.
At the scene, officers found the man, his wife, and their children. According to preliminary information, the woman was being threatened with a kitchen knife, which officers then seized from the husband. The prosecutor's office ordered the man's arrest. On Monday afternoon, he was presented to an examining magistrate.
