The LSAP politician served as mayor of the municipality of Roeser from 1970-1975 and 1982-2008.
At the end of Sinner's political career, the city council unanimously decided to bestow upon him the title of honorary mayor.
A condolence book will be available at the town hall from Monday until 19 April, where citizens will be able to sign.
