Endometriosis is one of the most common illnesses affecting women, but it is still unkown to many.
Endometriosis is often diagnosed late, as women continue to be told by many doctors that abdominal pain during periods is normal and to just put up with it.
But this endometriosis much more than just stomach cramps.
Symptoms range from heavy periods to infertility and can lead to pain so severe patients can no longer feel their legs, are unable to walk or even to get out of bed. Not to forget the stress caused by continually being dismissed and told to grit your teeth and bear it.
March marks Endometriosis Awareness Month, with the aim of providing education on the disease and increasing early detection.
