Due to renovation works on Place Guillaume II, the car park 'Knuedler' will have to be closed for twelve days.
The large car park in the capital's city centre has been under construction for over five years and partially reopened in January.
The Knuedler car park will, however, have to be closed again from Monday 7 February 2022 (6.00am) to Friday 18 February 2022 inclusive, the municipality of Luxembourg City announced on Wednesday.
The twelve-day closure is not related to the major underground construction site but to renovation works on Place Guillaume II. The work will enable the installation of "flow separation works at the outlets of the separate sewerage networks located at the entrance to the car park", the municipality explained.
The municipal authorities point out that there are still spaces available in the other car parks in the Upper Town and near the shops, including:
- Car park 'Monterey', with 340 spaces
- Car park 'Royal-Hamilius', with 404 spaces
- Car park 'Théâtre', with 335 spaces
- Car park 'Rond-Point Schuman', with 200 spaces from Monday to Friday and 400 spaces at weekends.
The municipality recommends motorists to use the dynamic guidance system and consult the occupancy rate of the car parks in the 'cityapp – VDL' mobile application, on parking.vdl.lu or on maps.vdl.lu
