On Tuesday, MPs are set to vote on several adjustments to the nature protection law.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ecological Movement (Mouvéco) demands fundamental changes, if the country wants to avoid losing biodiversity.
Mouvéco does welcome some of the adjustments, such as that the new law accounts for light pollution or the extension of the right of first refusal.
The environmental organisation states that it would have expected that beyond the protection of nature, something would have been done to make it "more acceptable to the population", for example in terms of administrative simplification.
Mouvéco regrets that some of its other proposals have not been taken into consideration, such as the gradual legalisation of the biotope register or a profound reform of the system of compensation for damage to nature.
Action should also be taken on agricultural practices, which contribute to a large extent to the loss of biodiversity, according to Mouvéco.
