Drunk driving
Shortly after 4am, a police patrol noticed a vehicle that was driving very slowly across the pavement in route de Trèves. After the patrol had pulled over the car, the officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol and asked the driver to take a breathalyser test. The test came back positive, resulting in the driver losing their licence on the spot.
Prior to this incident, police noticed a woman staggering towards her car that was parked at a petrol station in Esch-sur-Alzette. The officers stopped the car when the woman unsuccessfully tried to back out of her parking space.
A subsequent alcohol test confirmed that she was intoxicated. The legal maximum was surpassed by more than double, and the officers confiscated her driving licence immediately.
