On Saturday evening, Meteolux recorded wind speeds of up to 110 km/h.
Especially the west of the country was affected by the thunderstorms. Between 8.00 and 9.00 p.m., the weather station in Schimpach recorded 43 litres of rain per square metre.
Due to the orange weather alert, the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps prepared for a turbulent night. However, only a few emergency calls were registered.
On Sunday afternoon, new thunderstorms are expected to hit the Grand Duchy.
