In another case, a person was placed in pretrial detention because they were caught driving without a licence several times in the past two weeks.
Both shoplifters, who had stolen items from a shop in rue des Remparts in Echternach on Wednesday 21 April, were also placed in pretrial detention. They were caught red-handed by the shop's security personnel.
The culprits had stolen hygiene products worth €1,200. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office in Diekirch, both men were arrested and presented to an examining magistrate on Monday morning.
