A serious work accident involving a 17-year-old boy occurred in Colmar-Berg near route de Luxembourg on Friday morning.

As the police indicated in their latest report, a 17-year-old apprentice was seriously injured while operating a mower, a type of large grass-cutting machine attached to a tractor.

The young victim suffered a serious head injury and had to be treated urgently at the scene of the accident before being taken to hospital. His prognosis is critical.

Forensic scientists were dispatched to the scene to determine the cause of the accident, while the agricultural machine was immobilised for the purposes of the investigation. ITM officers were also on site.

The traffic was cut off for the duration of the intervention, in particular to allow the rescue helicopter to land.
