CSVNow is the time to look to the future, says Martine Hansen

On Tuesday morning, the interim leader of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) sat down for an interview with our colleagues at RTL Radio.

Hansen acknowledged the precarious situation that her party finds itself in and conveyed that she would have preferred to avoid a comparable issue. Nevertheless, the national congress on 24 April will be considered a reset, with new people leading the party into a brighter future.

Read also: Frank Engel resigns as CSV party presidentA financial audit is currently being undertaken to help ease the transition for the new team. Preliminary results are expected to come in by the time of the congress.

Candidacies for the post of CSV president have to be filed by Friday. Hansen was unwilling to announce any of the names already in the race. The interim leader was however confident that fruitful discussions are already being held and that a new team can be presented during the congress.

Experts estimate that MP Claude Wiseler will have the best chances of winning the race and becoming the new CSV president.
