The Confederation of Public Servants (CGFP) demands a meeting with Prime Minister Bettel to discuss government recruitment policies.

The union remains adamant about the criticism of "privatisation tendencies" in public service.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of three draft laws were passed in education and sport, which have blurred the official government recruitment policies for executive positions.

Additionally, the municipality of Luxembourg recently decided to hire a private security firm to help safeguard the streets of the Gare quarter.

CGFP president Romain Wolff commented: "We believe the police should remain in control, the government will never receive our approval for this decision."
