Police had to intervene a number of times due to drunk drivers.

One driver stood out to officers because he was driving erratically and at 80 km/h on the A13 towards Esch-sur-Alzette. The alcohol test came back positive, and the driver was fined, but allowed to keep his licence.

Police received reports of another inebriated driver at about 1 am. The individual was driving in serpentines on Route de Luxembourg towards the "Biff" round-about in Käerjeng. Police found the vehicle in Rue du Commerce in Rodange. Before they were able to pull the driver over, he crashed into another vehicle which was stationed on the roadside. After the alcohol test came back positive, police confiscated his driving licence, issued a fine, and gave the individual a temporary driving ban.

At 1.30 am, a vehicle was spotted in a ditch near CR306 in Bissen – with one of its tyres missing. This accident also occurred due to the driver being intoxicated. The individual had his driving licence confiscated and was given a temporary driving ban.

Another incident occurred on the N10 from Vianden to Stolzembourg. A driver lost control over his vehicle at about 5.30 am and crashed but was not injured in the accident. The individual had to take a breathalyser test, and after it came back positive, police confiscated his driving licence and issued a temporary driving ban.

Two vehicles crashed on the A7 at about 2 am. One of the drivers involved in the crash did not stop his vehicle, but instead continued driving all the way to Schengen. Both drivers were finally found at a petrol station in Schengen, and it was discovered that one of them had been driving while intoxicated.

Finally, two cars were involved in an accident on the A4 towards Esch-sur-Alzette. While both alcohol tests came back positive, only one driver lost his licence due to having exceeded the legal maximum. The two vehicles had to be towed away.
