The message further notes that there are more important issues at the moment than taking in refugees.

The Luxembourgish football federation already came forward to apologise for the message, which was sent by an FLF referee.

President Paul Philipp further conveyed that the referee in question had been summoned for an internal hearing, which will decide whether or not he is to officiate any matches in the future.
