Police received dozens of calls regarding parties and other noisy gatherings on Saturday night.

Xavier Bettel had warned that police cannot enter households, but can intervene if the peace is disturbed.

Police reported having intervened after noise complaints more than 60 times. The most-affected cities were Luxembourg City (10), Esch-sur-Alzette (7) and Bascharage (3).

In the majority of cases, police were called due to loud conversations, music or even dogs barking. In some cases, however, the noises had stopped before police arrived at the scene.
