The council of ethics has exemplified this statement by looking at the case of former minister Etienne Schneider, Wort reports.
Schneider left the administration to replace Jeannot Krecké as a member of the board at Arcelor Mittal. The government's approval of this move is now continuing to cause unrest.
According to the deontology code, the council only has to approve new activities by former ministers if they chose to do so two years after their mandate. The person in question is then still free to chose which direction he or she wants to pursue.
Paperjam reported that Schneider had already founded his first company: Beta Aquarii SA. According to the register of commerce, the SA is specialised in economic consulting and intermediation.
